South London — Camilla, The Duchess of Cornwall was touring the Rape and Sexual Abuse Support Centre in Croydon, South London yesterday when she blasted Beyonce and Lady GaGa.

58760155The Duchess of Cornwall was asked how Beyonce and Lady GaGa’s music videos affect teenagers today. The 2 popular singers’ latest music video is “Video Phone”.

Camilla told an audience of women:

A lot of those videos are terrifying. I am sure they trigger a response in some of the young people. I can never understand how they can get away with making those things. It has happened too quickly, values have changed so much.I suppose it’s peer pressure, that’s the problem. You don’t want to look the odd one out. But it takes a strong person to show that they don’t approve, especially at that age. It’s a breakdown of discipline. There doesn’t seem to be any punishment for such behavior. The teachers are too kind.

Should Camilla be preaching to other people about morals?

really?! I guess she’s entitled to her opinion but i find beyonce and gaga empowering to women and the gays … so stop hating and get back to yo’ castle camila. Plus, they have a SECOND video now for “telephone” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8pECBh9dr4Q can’t wait to see if camila approves!

I think this begs the question, why are two women with fake guns being singled out, rather than going after more overt offenders such some rap artists blatant references to brutal rape and murder, and glorification of violence.

I feel that art is art, and sometimes can be gruesome and shocking, and reflect some dark and violent matters. In truth this is nothing new, and it has been such a way for thousands of years, with various artists shocking and concerning the status quo. But all that aside, if someone is truly going to “take a stand”, then why not take it against the most overt offenders instead of some of the more tame ones?

It just strikes me as that it is much easier to attack the notion of violence and sex being espoused by femininity then it would be to do so against the male side of the coin. In interesting hypocrisy? What does this tell us in truth about society and its perceptions that even someone so aged and educated can still fall prey to such blatant prejudices. In my opinion this shows all the more reason that music and videos like this by women are as relevant as they always have been, because if there truly was a breakdown of prejudice towards the feminine sexuality and power, then this wouldn’t even be an issue to discuss.

The statements should be arbitrarily applied to all offenders instead of singling out a couple of women with plastic guns, who’s antics in the video are amazingly tame in this day and age of hard core rap and increasingly vulgar and daringly violent movies. Is it strength to take that sort of a stand, or is it a stand of convenience?

I look up to beyonce and lady gaga as empowering hard workers with a humble attitude. I you don’t find them appropriate for your teen then don’t let them watch. Camila is being hypocritical thought because she has no rights to talk about some one having bad morals. Go Beyonce and GaG keep doing your thing and encouraging other women!!!

  4. cameron says:

So Camilla wants the youngsters to grow up with her values, eh? No open exploration of sex; no revealing clothes; no undulating, provocatively moving bodies. Keep it all buttoned up, then have a clandestine, long-term, extra-marital affair with the Prince of Wales.

Camilla’s “moral behavior” destroyed two marriages–and hurt four young children. She’s not one to instruct others on discipline and being a strong person.

I agree with BAHBAH: Beyonce and GaGa are entertaining,, creative, and inspire others to feel free with their bodies and with exploring healthy sexuality.

  7. marsha says:

I definitely think that Ms. Camilla is a hypocrite to lecture ANYONE about morals.

Please that old bag Camilla needs to take notes on being a well liked person. Camilla you will never be the Queen for one, you are an adultress. You was married and sleeping with a married man. You destroyed Princess Diana and ugly as_ Charles marriage. You are not of pure blood. You were not a virgin that is why you were not apprioriate to marry Charles. Charles married you ugly as_ after Princess Diana died because he knew the British public would never approve of the marriage if Princess Diana was living. Lastly the prince kiss you ugly as_ and you still are a frog.
