The hardest part for any writer is to be fresh and entertaining to all including old jaded comic fans. Many times shows fall due to poor writing or predictable plots. Many of us watch a show and look for endings we predict and are happiest when an ending is better then what we predict. Many of us are closet writers that self citicise more then what an editor might so for Smallville to stay fresh with the time given the long history of the character mains is nice. We hate predictability and like to keep guessing at what might be next.
