2010 Election Results for the Illinois Elections Unveiled

Illinois – The voters had decided.

The results for the Illinois 2010 Election, which includes the Illinois Primary Results for Senate, the Cook County Election Results for President and the race for Governor in the said vicinity is already divulged to the public.

Illinois Senate Primary Results:

Alexi Giannoulias, who is the Democrat Treasurer of Illinois, has won the senate primary last Tuesday over Hoffman. The Democratic Senate expectant would fill the spot that President Obama had left. 93 percent of the voting precincts reported that Giannoulias garnered a total of 315,829 votes or a total of 39 percent. Then again, five-term congressman Republican Mark Kirk got the GOP voters’ support with 378,676 votes or a sum of 57 percent.

Cook County Results:

Democrat Tony Preckwinle succeeded over Todd Stroger with 42.9% of the votes.

The Battle for Illinois Governor

The Chicago Tribune said that the race for the Governor position for Illinois was “too close to call” at publishing time. A total of 99 percent of the state’s precincts reporting, the battle is between Patt Quinn and Dan Hynes, who both had 50 percent, with a margin of about 5,400 votes separating one from the other for the Democratic nomination. Though Hynes had not accepted, Quinn announced himself as the winner, declaring “the primary is over.”

Looking at the other side of the election, the Republican side to be exact, Brady had 21 percent over Dillard’s 20 percent, an approximate of 1,500 votes separating them. With 99 percent being counted, Andy McKenna, the former state Republican chairman, achieved 19 percent. A recount is most likely to happen due to this tight Governor election results.
