Beach to Beacon 10-km Race — Registration is now on for this year’s Caipe Elizabeth, Maine’s best-known running race, the TD Bank Beach to Beacon 10-kilometer race.

There will be an online registration for the general public which will begin today, March 13, for interested individuals who would like to join this summer’s TD Bank Beach to Beacon 10-kilometer race, a running competition that will be held in Cape Elizabeth on August 7.

Cape Elizabeth residents were allowed to register beginning Friday.

In 2009, 6,000 openings were filled online in less than two hours.

As part of this year’s process, a lottery has been added for those who don’t secure a spot through the online registration.

Beach-to-Beacon race began in the year 1998 with 3,000 runners, and is founded by Olympic gold medalist Joan Benoit Samuelson. Since then, the field has grown to 7,000.
