Southeatern Conference — Dexter Marquise McCluster became the first player in Southeastern Conference history with 1,000 yards rushing and 500 yards receiving in the same season.

Dexter is the running back for the Ole Miss Rebels, now considered one of the top wide receiver prospects for the 2010 NFL Draft. He surpassed both marks in the first quarter of the Cotton Bowl on Saturday against Oklahoma State.

During his senior season he set two school records against Tennessee for rushing yards in a game with 282 and all purpose yards in a game with 324. He is the fourthOle Miss player with a 1,000-yard rushing season.

Through 10 games of his senior season in 2009 he has rushed for 755 yards on 107 attempts and has made 31 receptions for 394 yards with eight touchdowns. He entered only 15 yards shy of the rushing mark and 25 short in receiving.

Dexter McCluster, indeed a genius for making an SEC record.
