iPad Apps – Tons of new iPad apps are available in the iTunes App Store, such as ABC, Netflix and The New York Times, and also includes apps for recipes, weather, travel and games.
Apple, the official manufacturer of iPad, says that “the 150,000 apps currently in the store for the iPhone will work with the iPad, but that it expects some 1,000 new apps for the iPad as well on Saturday, when the iPad goes on sale.”
When it comes to application costs, iPhone apps tend to be less expensive than iPad apps. iPhone apps are priced for around $2 or $3, but many iPad apps range at around $19.99 due to its big 9.7-inch screen. An example iPad app is from the travel book publisher Lonely Planet.
Steve Yankovich, eBay’s vice-president of mobile, says that EBay’s free app brings a more visual approach to monitoring auctions. It takes advantage of the iPad’s touch screen to let folks scroll all the way down until they find something they’re looking for.
