As of the current moment, more than 45,000 tickets are already sold for the most-awaited Pacquiao-Clottey match according to Cowboys Stadium officials.

Joellen Ferrer of StubHub, the official ticketing system of the said fight, has sent along some stats about resale tickets for the Manny Pacquiao-Joshua Clottey fight on Saturday night at Cowboys Stadium.

“StubHub has over 2,300 tickets listed, starting at $45. The average ticket price is now $131, and will likely come down before the match if inventory surpasses demand,” said Ferrer.

Pacquiao-Clottey is already the second-top grossing boxing event in StubHub history, because of the growing volume of ticket sales.

In preparation for the Pacquiao-Clottey fight on Saturday, get to know more about Joshua Clottey — who’s reportedly belittling the number 1 pound-for-pound boxer in the world.

“I am a very big welterweight,” he said after the news conference. “I want to feel Manny Pacquiao’s punches and see what he can do to me. He throws thousands of punches, but I block thousands of punches. I throw fewer punches, but my punches land and they hurt. And they will do damage.”

Clottey clearly counts on his size, which he believe is a huge advantage.

American Idol Season 9 – The top eight gentlemen set the stage to prove that they have what it takes to be in the top12.

So far, the guys have highs and lows during performance nights. Are they here to give a competition?

Here is review of what happened:

Lee Dewyze – He kicked off the show with “Fireflies” making it a contemporary version with the use of his husky voice. Kara said, “I think you actually made the song a better song,” which Randy also agreed. While Simon thought there was nothing rave about it.

Alex Lambert – The 19-year old sang a Ray LaMontagne song which he sang with maturity. Ellen said, “You are becoming a mushy banana, you’re ripening so fast.” Simon thought he needs to loosen up and even suggested that he should picture Randy in a bikini.

Tim Urban – The last minute replacement sang Leonard Cohen’s Hallelujah which he took to another level. The judges felt like they are always giving him a hard time so Ellen gave him a hug for his performance.

Andrew Garcia – The acoustic singer sang “Genie in a Bottle” by Christina Aguillera which Simon thinks is a little desperate on his part. Randy said that he misses the Aguillera range and Andrew made him feel “like the whole song was three notes”.

Casey James – He sang Keith Urban’s “You’ll Think Of Me” which he failed to give a broken vibe. Simon and Ellen thought he sounded great while Randy thought, “the song choice is too safe.”

Aaron Kelly – The 16-year old sounded like he was 30 according to Ellen singing Lonestar’s “I’m Already There” which apparently did not do him any good.

Todrick Hall – Last night is definitely one of Todrick’s best performances with his acapella intro of Queen’s “Somebody To Love”. Simon said, “It may have saved you, that song.” He appreciated Todrick’s attempt to do more in his performances compare with some of the other guys.

Michael Lynche – He took a risk singing Kate Bush’s “This Woman’s Work” which he delivered very well and made Kara cry. Simon said, “You come out with an incredibly difficult song to sing and you 100 percent nailed it.”
Who do you think nailed it? Thursday night, four more contestants will go home.

The Banaue Rice Terraces, one of the Southeast Asian country’s most popular tourist attractions which also happen to be the home to the numerous ancient stone-walled rice plots was placed into a state of calamity this week.

According to the chief aide to the Banaue Mayor Abriol Chuliba, tourists could still come and see the place, but they would just be disappointed because all that they will see are arid fields and forest fires.

The rice paddies, locally known as the Philippines’ “Eight Wonder of the World” are also a United Nations World Heritage site. The terraces were created between 2,000 and 6,000 years ago by utilizing giant rocks as steps and an intricate dripping-from-the-top irrigation method.

The current El Niño has also caused a dearth in tourist count in Batad and Bangaan, according to Juliet Mateo, the Banaue tourist information bureau officer. Mateo also furthered that the harvesting cycle in the mountains is different from that on the plains. Planting in the mountains usually takes up to six months wherein it only takes three months on the plain. Furthermore it is in immediate danger of being completely destroyed due to the drought.

Quoted from the tourist information bureau officer’s words, she said that ”the mountain rice was planted in December and January, but the way things are going there won’t be anything left to harvest in June and July,”. She added that Teodoro Baguilat, the Ifugao province governor had already declared a state of calamity for the province last March 8. This gave the local authorities access to the emergency funds to coordinate with the affected farmers.

Banaue Mayor Chuliba shared that the seasonal rains in the archipelago had stopped since last month, resulting to the mountain springs in Batad and Bangaan to dry up. As he couyld remember, this is the worst drought that he could remember since 1998.

American Idol Season 9– The top eight ladies took the stage and gave everything they have to secure a spot in the top 12.

The 12 spots seem to be so close for the eight ladies but then again, two among them will go home.

It is very thrilling to see few of the performances but the people are still waiting for that Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood star moments.

Here is a recap of what happened Tuesday night:

Katie Stevens – She started the night with Kelly Clarkson’s Breakaway which is apparently not a better version. Randy didn’t like it even though it was his favourite song while Ellen said she could not feel that she took a risk on the song.

Siobhan Magnus – Magnus did a beautiful rendition of Animals’ “House of the Rising Sun” making it a slower version. But the judges particularly, Simon, did not like it and Kara said that she is an unlikely character.

Lacey Brown – Randy called her performance of “The Story” by Brandi Carlile boring and sleepy. She did an okay stage performance – the judges thought it was best she had - but she was not able to convince everyone that she deserves to be there.

Katelyn Epperly – The 19-year old sang Carole Kings’ “I Feel The Earth Move” which looks like she was bored with herself. The judges said that there was nothing special with her performance and comparing it to a Friday request night in a restaurant. Kara said, “I didn’t feel like you were competing on that stage.”

Didi Benami – Last week was a little bit harsh for Didi because the judges thought it was not the right song for her. But this week, she did a pretty good job singing Fleetwood Mac’s “Rhiannon” with the use of her guitar. Simon commented, “The ‘wow’ moment was actually the whole performance.”

Paige Miles – Singing “Smile” by Charlie Chaplin, she had some lovely moments but not-so-nice moments as well. The judges remarked her performance as “all wrong” because it looks like a Holiday Inn whatsoever. They all thought Paige has a potential but her song choices are not so great.

Crystal Bowersox – The singer gave an extra flavour with Tracy Chapman’s “Give Me Reason” making the judges love it. Ellen even said, “I need new adjectives for you.” And there is one thing that Simon is sure about, “1 million-billion percent going to be in the top 12 next week…Right now, you are the one everyone has to beat.”

Lily Scott – With all the praises that Crystal was getting, Lily still delivered with confidence singing Patsy Cline’s “I Fall to Pieces”. She took a modern approach with her guitar-playing hands. Randy said she was in the zone while Ellen loves her originality.

The top eight guys perform Wednesday and four will say goodbye on Thursday.

Layla Grace – The 2 year-old named Layla Grace, who touched people’s lives, lost her battle against cancer called Neuroblastoma Tuesday morning.

Condolences to the family of Baby Layla Grace.

Layla’s story has touched people because she was fighting for her life in such a young age. Neuroblastoma is a rare cancer that can be found in small children or infants.

According to some sources, Layla had a good 15 month check up and it seems like everything will turn out well. But when the 16 month came, she started to lose her appetite and became irritable at times.

It was discovered that Layla has a massive cancerous tumor  and  it is now on stage 4 Neuroblastoma in her abdomen. It extends to her left kidney, around her side, over her belly and wraps around her aorta. And later on, the cancer went to her bone marrow.

The sweet little baby went from a cute, normal and healthy to a baby in pain.

The family is now preparing for her funeral, a fund-raising event was held Tuesday night in her honor at the Chuy’s Mexican Restaurant off the Northwest Freeway.

Many celebrities like Ryan Seacrest and Eva Longoria know her story and tweeted their condolences to the family.

Washington – A middle-aged American woman is an instrument in recruiting a network for terrorist and suicide attacks in Asia and Europe.

Colleen Rose aka Jihad Jane

The woman is from Pennsylvania who used emails, YouTube videos and other documents to do the recruitment.

She is identified as, Colleen R. LaRose, who is also known as “Jihad Jane” over the internet. According to authorities, she  said that she can go all the way to Sweden to kill an artist to scare the person who does not believe her.

La Rose is 46 years of age with blonde hair and green eyes who said that nobody can catch her. According to her, no one can detect what she’s doing and where she’s going.

In one email, she mentioned, “It is an honour & great pleasure to die or kill for. Only death will stop me here that I am so close to the target!”

However, LaRose was not able to kill the artist.

She allegedly got her funds from terrorist organizations so that she can recruit and travel.  She was arrested Oct. 15 in Philadelphia, and the denunciation against her was unsealed Tuesday.

On Monday, investors sent Cisco a large amount of share after releasing a statement about their newest equipment, the CRS-3 platform.

According to Marketwatch, John Chambers, Chief Executive Officer of Cisco, revealed that they will unveil  ”a significant announcement that will forever change the Internet.”

But what exactly did most people expect the company, whose core business is routers and switches, to announce? The new routers promise 12 times the traffic capacity of rival routing systems. Ultimately, as they are deployed by carriers such as AT&T Inc. and others, this much-needed capacity will help move the additional traffic burden from all the smartphones out there, plus fat video files.

Cisco’s announcement of their new high-capacity router wasn’t worth the hype, they overplayed instead. That’s according to various news websites and product reviews.

Clearly, investors don’t have the same tolerance for hyperbole from Cisco chief executive John Chambers as they do from Apple Inc.’s Steve Jobs.

P & G also had a recall of dozens of other consumer products containing food additive HVP last week. HVP — or hydrolyzed vegetable protein — is a flavor found in many soup mixes and dips.

Meanwhile, Basic Foods Flavors – also a manufacturer of chips located in Las Vegas – recalled more than 90 products after being tested positive for salmonella.

The Pringles recall is only for two flavors of the popular potato chips: Restaurant Cravers Cheeseburger and Family Faves Taco Night.

Through an exclusive partnership between Marvel Studios and Columbia Records, renowned band AC/DC music would serve as the soundtrack to the sequel of the 2008 smash hit film, Iron Man. Together with this, come Monday, April 19, 2010, Columbia Records will release the opus “AC/DC: Iron Man 2” which features 15 traditional AC/DC tunes chosen from 10 of the group’s studio works from 1976 to 2008.

The albums “AC/DC: Iron Man 2” and the deluxe version of “AC/DC: Iron man 2+ – CD+DVD and two LP vinyl packages are available on Walmart.com and Amazon.com, respectively. Internationally, the film would be released on April 28, 2010. As for the United States, it would be scheduled for launching on May 7, 2010 under Paramount Pictures.

The debut record from the “AC/DC: Iron man 2” is the band’s classic album track “Shoot to Thrill”, which was captured live last December 2009 in Buenos Aires during the group’s highly successful Black ice World Tour. According to concert industry trade magazine Pollstar, this was the second highest earning world tour of 2009. Included in the video are selected clippings from the “Iron Man 2” and debuts from around the world.

“Shoot To Thrill” was from the band’s “Back In Black” album, one of the best selling albums of all time.
