Beach to beacon – - The Beach to Beacon race which is going to be taking off soon has increased the number of registrations that will taken by a hundred and fifty to accommodate seven thousand runners this year.
As compared to six thousand eight hundred and fifty registrations last year. The registration process is going to be carried out in three different phases to provide maximum justice to those who want to take part in it and the registration for Cape Elizabeth residents, the town where the race is held every year, started at eight o’ clock in the morning today.
The timeline for the town’s residents to register is going to be one whole day in which six hundred slots have been given to the town’s population. It is important to note that runners who do not belong to the town of Cape Elizabeth cannot register for the race under the first phase and if it is found out that it has been done, the respective runner/s will be disqualified from the race without being given a refund.
The second phase of the Beach to Beacon race registration will start at eight in the morning tomorrow for the general public which has been allotted four thousand registration slots. The registration for the general public will remain open till four thousand runners have been signed up for the race.
After this the third phase for the Beach to Beacon registration will begin which is the lottery phase. In the lottery phase a total of fifteen hundred numbers will be selected in the lottery draw which will take place on the twenty-second day of march. A fee of five dollars will be taken from each lottery entrant per bib number and the price for the normal race registration is thirty-five dollars.
