Google Doodle — Asking why Popeye the Sailor Man is on Google? Here’s the reason.
When I hit Google, my first question was Why Is Popeye on Google?
Is it a new lucky charm? Google is no more interested in a new mascot, for sure
Is Popeye Sesame street member? Not possible at all
None of the above.
The Google is celebrating the birthday of the great legendary Elvis Crisler, the creator of Popeye cartoon series. Elvis Crisler Seger was born on 8th December 1894 and died in 1934 when he was 43 year old.
Elvis Crisler Seger died young due to the liver disease. He battled with the disease for some time but finally passed away. The Popeye show was taken over by his assistant Bud Sagendorf and he continued the comic cartoon show for several years.
The Popeye was originally started in 1919 as Thimble Theater for NY Journal. The first characters were Horace Hamgravy and Olive Oyl, it continued for ten years then Popeye was introduced. Popeye, the Sailor was popular for its funny characters and comedy. After the successful launching of Popeye, Segan later on launched more characters like Brutus, Wimpy.
8th December 2009, the Google logo turned into a powerful Popeye with color full letters, this is the way Google pay tribute to the great American Cartoonist.
Today, once again Google step up to pay the tribute to the creator of a great character with unique and different features like getting power up through spinach.
Well, heads off to Google, for honoring great legends in their own different way.

Google Doodle — Still after Big Bird, the 40th anniversary celebration of Sesame Street on Google isn’t done yet. It’s cookie monster’s turn on the doodle.
The US children’s TV show Sesame Street has been paid the ultimate compliment of being featured in different Google doodles in different regions.
Sesame Street has earned its place in the Google hall of fame on account of celebrating its 40th birthday.
While the UK initially appeared to have been ignored – its homepage featured Wallace and Gromit celebrating their 20th birthday instead – it has now been brought in from the cold, with a doodle of the Cookie Monster having apparently taken a bite out of a Google logo. (Made out of cookies, naturally.)
The US and Canadian Google homepage features the distinctive spindly legs of Big Bird, and other characters are in the spotlight on other countries’ homepages.
The popular television series actually celebrates its birthday on 10 November, when there will be an anniversary show featuring US First Lady Michelle Obama.
The show is now being broadcasted in more than 140 countries and has won 122 Emmy awards.

Google Doodle — Google celebrated two anniversaries – Sesame Street for its 40th anniversary and 20th for Wallace and Gromit, making them 3 big celebrities over Google Doodle yesterday.
Sesame Street is probably one of the oldest children shows and almost everyone have fond memories of the show. I and many children of my age grew up watching Sesame Street, Bert and Ernie, and Snuffy. Sesame Street has earned much popularity among millions around the world and its popularity has increased over the years. More recently, Michelle Obama went to Sesame Street to give a message to the public. Apparently, Michelle was more excited for being a part of Sesame Street than speaking in a UN summit. ‘I never thought I’d be on Sesame Street with Elmo and Big Bird, and I was thrilled and I still am, ‘Said a very excited Michelle.
Google Doodle, one of the popular services of Google, designed an exclusive logo to commemorate the longest running TV show and made L with the Big Bird’s legs. The whole page was colored yellow.

The TV show which started in 1969 will mark its birthday on November 10. To celebrate the birthday, the Big Bird (Sesame Street’s trademark birdie) is visiting various TV shows. Big Bird will appear as a featured guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. The featured appearance will continue whole month. Other Muppets of Sesame Street like Elmo and Rosita will appear on “Are You Smarter than a Fifth Grader? Too.
During the same said date, in UK Google, goes another doodle:

This is for the 20th anniversary of the cartoon Wallace and Gromit. Wallace, an absent-minded, cheese-loving inventor, is shown in the Google Doodle sharing tea with his intelligent and capable dog Gromit. The characters were created by Nick Park of Aardman Animations.
